Our Commitment

At Rocket Reuse, we want you to love your vintage finds and unique treasures. Since 2010, we've been committed to providing our Alameda community with quality used items. While all sales are generally final due to the unique, pre-owned nature of our inventory, we understand that sometimes things don't work out as expected.

Return Policy Overview

Return Window: 7 days from date of purchase
Condition Required: Items must be in the same condition as purchased
Proof of Purchase: Original receipt or order confirmation required

Eligible Returns

What You CAN Return:

  • Defective Items: Products with undisclosed damage or defects not visible at time of purchase
  • Misrepresented Items: Items significantly different from description (online orders only)
  • Wrong Item Shipped: If we sent you the wrong product (online orders only)
  • Books: If pages are missing or severely damaged (not disclosed at purchase)
  • Vinyl Records: If record is unplayable due to undisclosed damage
  • Clothing: If item has undisclosed structural damage (tears, broken zippers, etc.)

What You CANNOT Return:

  • Change of Mind: Items you simply no longer want
  • Size/Fit Issues: Vintage clothing sizing varies; all measurements provided are approximate
  • Normal Wear: Items showing typical signs of age or use that were visible at purchase
  • Opened Media: CDs, DVDs, or games that have been opened (unless defective)
  • Comics: Individual comics or graphic novels (unless pages missing)
  • Clearance Items: All sale/clearance merchandise is final sale
  • Items Used/Worn: Any item that has been used, worn, or altered after purchase

Return Process

For In-Store Purchases:

  1. Bring the item and original receipt to our store within 7 days
  2. Our team will inspect the item to verify eligibility
  3. If approved, we'll process your refund on the spot

For Online Purchases:

  1. Contact Us First: Email contact.rocketreuse@gmail.com within 7 days
  2. Include: Order number, photos of the item, and reason for return
  3. Wait for Approval: We'll review and provide return instructions if eligible
  4. Ship Back: Use our provided return shipping label (see shipping details below)

Refund Methods

Original Payment Method:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: Refunds processed back to original card (3-5 business days)
  • Cash Purchases: Cash refunds available immediately in-store
  • Shopify Payments: Online refunds processed within 1-2 business days

Store Credit Option:

  • We may offer store credit for items that don't meet standard return criteria
  • Store credit never expires and can be used online or in-store
  • Store credit may be offered at manager's discretion for customer satisfaction

Shipping and Handling

Return Shipping:

  • Our Error: We provide prepaid return label for wrong/defective items
  • Customer Responsibility: You pay return shipping for other eligible returns
  • Recommended: Use trackable shipping methods
  • Risk: You're responsible for safe return delivery

Original Shipping:

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless we made an error
  • Free shipping promotions: actual shipping cost deducted from refund if item returned

Exchanges

No Direct Exchanges: We don't offer direct item exchanges due to our unique, ever-changing inventory

Alternative Process:

  1. Return the original item (if eligible)
  2. Receive refund or store credit
  3. Purchase new items separately

This ensures fair pricing since our inventory and pricing change regularly.

Processing Times

In-Store Returns:

  • Inspection: Immediate at time of return
  • Refund: Processed immediately for cash; 3-5 days for cards

Online Returns:

  • Inspection: 2-3 business days after we receive your return
  • Refund: 1-5 business days after inspection (depending on payment method)
  • Notification: Email confirmation when refund is processed

Special Considerations

Vintage and Used Items:

  • All items are pre-owned unless otherwise noted
  • Minor imperfections are expected and part of the vintage character
  • We disclose significant flaws when known, but some wear may be overlooked

Electronics:

  • Test all electronics immediately upon receipt
  • Report issues within 48 hours for online orders
  • No returns on working electronics after 48 hours

Collectibles:

  • Condition is subjective; we provide honest assessments
  • Rare finds and collectibles are carefully priced and described
  • Returns accepted only for undisclosed major damage

Damaged During Shipping

Our Responsibility:

  • Items damaged during shipping are our responsibility
  • Contact us immediately with photos
  • We'll arrange replacement or full refund plus return shipping

Your Responsibility:

  • Inspect packages upon delivery
  • Report damage within 48 hours
  • Keep all packaging materials for damage claims
